One place I love to put hanging pots of flowers is in our screened pool enclosure. I bought a beautiful one last year and wanted to add a few more....But you know what? They are really expensive! $24.99?
Love the Look but Not the Price!
Now my friends...you know I like to save money whenever I can. You can read the different ways I save here. So paying almost $25 dollars....was not the plan for me...no way! Instead I'm making my own!Do It Yourself ~ Hanging Flower Basket
Bargains on Plants
Did you know that Lowes and Home Depot clearance plants on a regular basis? The plants don't always look very good... but many of them just need some T.L.C.,Find out where your local store puts plants on clearance and ALWAYS look there first.
Ask a manager the rotation schedule so you know when a new batch of clearance plants will be available.
Look At These Deals!
Yes..you read right! Plants for .50 cents and $1.50. I buy as many plants as I can this way!
Choosing a Planter
I love the hanging wire baskets with inserts. The inserts can be replaced later if needed. (I have yet to replace any...and have used the baskets for several years)
( I bought two of these for $4.98 but wish I had spent the $9.99 because the chain is rusting...you get what you pay for my Nana always said...)

Choosing Plants
Choose plants that like the same sun conditions. For example full sun with other full sun plants.
Other than that...the sky is the limit!
I love multi~color baskets so I choose many different colored flowers. If pink is your favorite color ~ choose different varieties of pink flowers. Create an arrangement that puts a smile on your face!!
